Heatwave fails to dampen enthusiasm at York by Chad Neighbor HOLDING a stamp event in the middle of summer, especially during a memorable heatwave, hardly seems like a good bet. However, collectors and dealers braved Mediterranean conditions to pile into York Racecourse on July 21 and 22 for the York Stamp and Coin Fair in the Knavesmire Stand. Indeed, something like 100 collectors were waiting when the doors opened for the free show ... Waiting for the off at the starting gate!
