De La Rue marks 150th anniversary of stamp production

STAMP printers De La Rue Security Print produced this commemorative cover to mark the 150th anniversary of stamp printing on July 31 2005.


It shows the first stamp De La Rue printed - the GB 4d carmine on blued paper, which was also depicted on the 1/6 Philympia stamp of 1970. It is postmarked in Dunstable, the home of De La Rue's stamp printing works. Over the years it has acquired other stamp printers ...
